Job Description

Our client a fast-growing international business in the proprietary trading industry is looking for an experienced Operation & Risk Manager.  They provide traders with prop trading solutions, maintaining a high-performance environment across global markets.

You will combine strategic thinking with hands on-execution to design frameworks, embed risk practices, and strengthen a proactive risk culture.

The role is responsible for empowering the operations and operational risk functions, including due diligence best practices to enact and implement improvements upon the risk management structure.

This is a hands-on role where the hiring manager is challenging a commercial individual to come in and partner with business leaders in Risk, Trading, Technology, Compliance, and other core functions to streamline daily operations and implement longer term projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily operations of the exchange and ensuring smooth trading processes
  • Managing analysts, and support staff
  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations
  • Monitoring trading activities and transactions to detect irregularities or fraudulent activities
  • Preparing and presenting operational reports to senior management
  • Staying updated on market trends, financial regulations, and new operational strategies
  • Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies


Requirements

  • Industry Experience: Mandatory 3–5 years of experience within the Proprietary Trading industry. Candidates without direct prop firm experience will not be considered.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of prop firm account structures, trading platforms (MT4/MT5, DxTrade, etc.), and risk exposure metrics.
  • Operational Background: Proven experience in managing or overseeing account management teams in a high-pressure, structured environment.
  • Autonomy: Highly proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision (no training provided; expertise is expected from day one).
  • Communication: Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal) with high attention to detail and accountability.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze trading data and identify patterns of risk or operational inefficiency.
